Host a game on the projector
The host screen is what you project for the whole class: a lobby with the game PIN and QR code, buttons to start, reveal the answer, move to the next question, lock the room and end the game, plus sound and full screen.

Steps
- The lobby shows the join address, the game PIN and a QR code. Students' names appear as they join. A name with a no-wifi icon means that student has lost their connection.
- Click the X on a name to remove that student from the game. They can't join again. You can only do this in the lobby.
- Click “Start” once there's at least one player.
- In Teacher-paced games: wait for the time to run out or click “Reveal answer” to close the question early. The screen shows how many students chose each answer, the explanation and the leaderboard. Click “Next question”. On the last question, the button changes to “View results”.
- In Student-paced games: the “Tracker” tab shows the number of players, the “Correct answer rate” (out of all answers given), how many have finished, the top 10 and each student's progress question by question. Click “End” when you want to announce the results.
- Click “End” at any time to stop the game. Once it has ended, it can't be continued.
Options and limits
- Lock room
- “Lock room” blocks new players, both in the lobby and during the game. Signed-in students who already joined can still come back. Click “Unlock room” to open it again.
- Game PIN during the game
- The PIN stays visible in the top bar so latecomers can still join.
- Cancel game
- In the lobby, click “Cancel game” and confirm to drop the game (click “Back” if you change your mind). The PIN stops working, and the players who are waiting see the “Game canceled” screen.
- Sound
- The “Sound” section has “Sound” and “Background music” switches and a “Volume” slider. If the browser blocks sound, click “Click to turn on sound”.
- Display
- “Full screen”, “Turn off animations” (for slower computers or people prone to motion sickness) and a button to switch between light and dark themes.
- Several windows
- Up to 4 windows can host the same game, for example a computer connected to the projector and a tablet. If you open a fifth window, the oldest one loses host control; click “Host from this window” to take it back.
Common errors and how to fix them
- “Lost connection to the server. The game is still running; reconnecting…” → check the projector computer's network; the screen reconnects automatically.
- “You’re going too fast — try again in a moment.” → you clicked buttons too quickly; wait a few seconds, then click again.
- There's no pause or skip-question button yet. To close a question early, click “Reveal answer”.
- The tracker shows whether each student is right or wrong, so don't project it on the big screen while a question is open.
- A game closes automatically if the lobby sits empty for 4 hours, if a running game has no activity for 90 minutes, or 24 hours after it was created.
- With “Auto-play” on, the projected screen counts down before it moves to the next question or ends the game; you can still click “Next question” or “End” at any time. A Teacher-paced game waits while no student is connected. A Student-paced game only ends by itself once everyone in the room has finished, including students who left part-way.
