Delete your Bút Nghiên account

You can delete your account yourself in “Settings”, confirming with an OTP code sent to your email. Once it's deleted, you can't sign in again and the account can't be restored.

Steps

  1. Go to “Settings” and scroll down to the “Delete account” section at the bottom of the page.
  2. Read the explanation of what gets deleted and what is kept carefully.
  3. Enter your “Current password”. If you only sign in with Google, leave this field empty.
  4. Tick the box “I understand that this can't be undone and that I will lose access to the account …”, then click “Send deletion code”. The button only works after you tick the box.
  5. Open the email, get the 6-digit code and enter it in the “Verification code from email” box.
  6. Click “Delete account permanently”. The screen shows “Account deleted. Signing out…” and signs you out of Bút Nghiên.

Options and limits

Deleted
Your full name, email, phone number, avatar, password, Google link and notifications. Every device signed in to this account is signed out.
Kept
Classes, exams and attempt results are kept for the other side (teacher or students) but are no longer linked to your name.
Signing up again
You can use this email again to create a new account, but the new account doesn't have the old account's data.
Resend code
Click “Resend code” after 60 seconds if the email hasn't arrived. Click “Cancel” to stop without deleting anything.
Administrator accounts
Can't be deleted by their owner. The page says “Administrator accounts can't delete themselves. …” — hand over administrator rights to someone else first, or ask another administrator to handle it.

Common errors and how to fix them

  • “Please enter your current password” → your account has a password; enter the password you use to sign in.
  • “Your current password is incorrect” → re-enter your current password correctly.
  • “The verification code is incorrect or has expired” → the code only works for a few minutes; click “Resend code” and enter the newest code.
  • “Please wait before resending the verification code” → wait the full 60 seconds, then click again.
  • “Too many attempts. Please try again later.” → wait a while, then try again.
  • “This account isn't eligible for deletion.” → the account is locked or no longer active; contact an administrator.
  • This can't be undone. If you only want to take a break, just sign out.
  • Until you click “Delete account permanently”, nothing about your account has changed — you can click “Cancel” at any time.
