Question banks
A question bank is your store of questions, organized by folder, difficulty, cognitive level and tag. Questions in a bank are used to draw exams with a blueprint. Students can't see question banks.

Steps
- Go to “Question banks” → “New bank”. Enter the “Question bank name”, check the “Subject” (preselected from the subjects of the banks you've created; for your first bank, choose one under “-- Choose a subject --”), add a “Short description”, then click “Create bank”. No subject that fits? Pick “+ Add a new subject…” at the end of the subject list: only you see the subjects you add, and you rename or delete them in “Settings” → “Your subjects”.
- Click a bank's card (the bank name or “Open bank”) to go to that bank's workspace.
- Left column “Categories & Folders”: click “Create new folder” to organize questions by chapter or lesson.
- Click “Create question”: choose the “Question type”, “Difficulty”, “Cognitive level” and “Default points”, enter the content and the options, the “Detailed explanation” and “Tags”, then click “Save question”. Multiple-choice questions have 2 to 8 options: use the “Add option” button and the delete button on each option. Single-answer and True / False questions use round buttons to choose the answer; multiple-answer questions use checkboxes. If the content, an option or the explanation has a formula between two $ signs, the “Preview” line below shows how it will look; the question list also shows formulas as math.
- Have questions in a Word file? Click “Import from Word” (next to “Create question”) and choose a .docx file (up to 20 MB) written in the same layout as an exam import: “Question 1.”, options “A.”, “B.”, … with a * before the correct answer, “EXPLANATION:” for the explanation, formulas between two $ signs. The “Import questions from Word” box shows every question read from the file; untick the ones you don't need, choose “Add to folder”, then click “Add … questions”. Questions with an error are locked with the reason: fix them in the Word file and upload it again.
- Find questions with the search box and the “All types”, “All difficulties”, “All levels” and “All tags” filters. The list is split into pages (“Previous page” / “Next page”); changing a filter takes you back to page 1.
- Each question has “Edit” and “Duplicate” buttons and a delete button. To work on many questions at once: tick each question (or “Select all on this page”), then click “Move to folder” or the button to delete the selected questions.
- To put questions from a bank into an exam: in the exam builder or the advanced editor, click “Add from question bank” to pick individual questions; or set up a blueprint in “Exam blueprints” to generate an exam automatically (the “From question bank” card on the create exam page opens that page too).
- You can only delete a folder when it's empty.
- When importing from Word, group headings in the file (such as “PART I”) are not kept in the bank; each upload can be added only once, so upload the file again to add it once more.
- When you create a bank, tick “Let other teachers view this bank (Public)” if you want to share it with other teachers; if you leave it unticked, the bank is “Private”. You can change it at any time: click the settings button (slider icon) on the bank card, or “Settings” on the bank page, choose “Private” or “Public”, then click “Save settings”. The name, subject and description are edited there too.
- True / False questions always have exactly 2 options, True and False. Older True / False questions saved with extra options are tidied into True / False when you open them for editing; the answer is kept if the correct option was True or False.
- If an option is empty or no correct answer is chosen, the question isn't saved, and the error appears right below the options: “Option … is empty.”, “Pick the one correct answer.” or “Mark at least one correct answer.”.
