Your exam list

The “Exams” page shows every exam you've created, lets you filter by status and gives you quick access to tasks: grading essays, settings, printing, sharing and viewing scores.

Steps

  1. Go to “Exams”. The two sections “In use” and “Archived” keep the exams you are using apart from the ones you have put away. Under “In use”, filter with “All exams”, “Open”, “Not open yet”, “Closed”, “Draft”, or type an exam or class name in the search box.
  2. Status labels on each exam: “Open”, “Not open yet”, “Closed”, “Canceled”, “Draft”, “Archived”.
  3. Each exam card shows the “Time”, the number of “Questions” and the number of “Submissions”.
  4. Buttons on the exam card: “Grade essays”, “Settings”, “Print exam”, “Share”, “Scores”, and “Delete” (exam nobody has taken yet) or “Archive” (exam students have already taken). A “Draft” exam has a “Continue editing” button (it reopens the exam in the advanced editor) instead of “Scores”, and doesn't have “Grade essays” or “Share” yet. Clicking the exam title also opens it: a draft opens in the editor, other exams open their scores. The confirmation box for deleting or archiving shows the exam's title.
  5. Click “Create exam” to create a new exam.
  • If you haven't created any exams yet, the page says “No exams yet” with a “Create exam” button.
  • A “Draft” exam isn't open to students yet. To open it, click “Settings” on the exam card, check the times, choose “Open to students” under “Exam room status”, then click “Save exam settings”.
  • An exam that students have already taken can't be deleted straight away, so their scores are never lost. Click “Archive”: students can no longer start it, while their work and scores stay as they are. Under “Archived”, click “Restore” to use the exam again, or “Delete permanently” if you really want to delete it together with the work and scores (this can't be undone).
